D-Barcode is a design firm in Japan that is designing these barcodes. Most of the time, Barcodes look like they are slapped on after everything else is designed, which they usually are. These new designs may really bring barcodes to a new design level. So far I think they are a little too cute, but I'm excited that some attention is being paid to them.
Dove's new line of products for men called, Men+Care. The packaging and website have a pretty good design, and I like the idea of reaching out to the male audience who may be turned away by Dove's very feminine brand and may be a little to old for Axe's young image.
Check out the products and the website. The Dieline also has a nice posting about it.
I have had the new Deisel Campaign “Be Stupid” stuck in my head like a bad song. I really wish I could stop thinking about it. When I first saw the print ads in the subway stations around NY, I was immediately turned off. The words, “Be Stupid.” cover the walls along the subway platforms at almost every station I go to. “If buying your product makes me stupid then I don't want it,” I thought to myself as I walked by countless print ads in the Broadway-Nassau station.
The Problem is the more and more I think about the campaign and research it on the internet, the more I like it. Gosh, I never thought I would say this but... I actually think it's kind of clever.
The design and visuals are really good and I love the colors. Some of the ads are still lacking but the ones that aren't plastered all over the walls of the subway are really funny. I don't know why these weren't the ones chosen for these media placements. When I saw these I understood why I would want to “Be Stupid.”
They also want people to send in the “stupid” things that they are doing.
I am home sick with the flu and really only have the capacity to do brainless activities like search the web and look at things. I came across N.E.R.D's website. I usually don't like websites for musicians but I really like this one because it isn't typical of a musical groups website.
I was recently told that an there is addition of "The Little Prince" as a pop up book! I had no idea! "The Little Prince" is one of my all time favorite books, as a child and as an adult. This is on my list of things to order on Amazon. I highly recommend that any Little Prince fan check it out!
