Go Forth! (Again!)
You may remember my post a few months ago about how awesome the Levi's "Go Forth" campaign is. Well, I still love it! This spot, which isn't new but new to me, gets me so excited for summer (and wish that I was still a teenager in New Hampshire)! Enjoy!
Crazy Animated GIFs

This is an awesome little website that just plays short animated GIFs over and over and over and over again! There is something so captivating about watching a few seconds of something that may be in all actuality really boring repeat. It is mind numbing.
Check it out if you feel like staring at your computer screen for longer then you already have to. It's kind of awesome.
Thanks Swiss Miss, for posting about such a weird little site.

Why was the farmer angry that his cheese wasn't curdling?
It was whey behind schedule.
hehe. I can't take credit for this awesome joke, my friend Mike Enright came up with it, but these awesome packages for Whey Protein that I saw on the dieline are whey cool! haha
Alright, enough with the jokes.
The packaging is really cool but there is something about it that reminds me of mascara boxes.
Here is the article if you want to read more about it.

Short Cuts
For some reason, when I tried to post this originally it didn't post the content. Well, here it is again.
Adobe recently created a Student Hub website to sell their student edition of the Creative Suite. The design is nice and all but the really awesome thing is the downloadable application! Gosh, I wish I had this sophomore year. When you download the application you can choose the program that your working in and it will show you all of the shortcuts you can then and you can select some favorites.

Ridiculously Thick Yogurt

This banner ad is an upside down ad so it immediately grabs you attention. Then the honey starts to drip out, but the yogurt still doesn't move. It keeps dripping and dripping and dripping leaving the walls of the box and dripping down the page. It's great!
Canon Take Over of NYtimes.com
Today some of you may have gone to NYTimes.com and maybe you went to the "Business" section. At that point you may have noticed a take over banner ad that makes the page black and white and then another page slides in in color. The tagline is something like "Doesn't it look better in color." I actually can't remember the tagline because very shortly after the animation stops my browser crashes! This happened multiple times! I would say it's good if it didn't crash my browser.

The Westin's Amazon Store Front

BBH just helped launch Westin's "storefront" on amazon.com.
It came out really beautifully. The page nicely reflects the Westin's brand. It's also a pretty cool idea.

New Palm Ads

I usually try not to bash any ads on my blog because I know that clients and politics often stunt the creative process, and sometimes I try to be understanding and sensitive. An ad really has to bug me for me to speak publicly about how much I dislike it. Well, the Palm Plus ads bug me to that point, and maybe beyond.
If they weren't all over I wouldn't care. They could be easily ignored because there is nothing about them that makes people notice them. The only thing that makes you notice them is that they are everywhere. They are even at subway stations that you wouldn't expect to see them like the Myrtle-Willoughby stop on the G-train (no one is ever at this stop! not the best media buy in my opinion). The placements of these ads make it seem like Palm is marketing this phone, to well, basically everyone, considering that they are everywhere.
The phone? It's not that beautiful. Visually, it can't compete with the iPhone or even the Droid. The ads showcase qualities of the phone that seemingly every PDA and smartphone have. So why should I buy this phone, that offers me what any other phone does but in a less fashionable way for the same price? Yeah, I don't really know either.
One would think that after the terribly creepy spots that launched in 2009 Palm would be trying to win people over. Negative commenters on YouTube went to the extent of saying that due to those creepy spots they wouldn't buy the phone. I don't know how much this actually affected people in the market for a very average smartphone but after comments like that Palm was most likely wanting to play this campaign pretty safe.
The tag line leaves something to be desired. "Life moves fast. Don't miss a thing." In the words of Cher Horowitz (Clueless), "Can we please be more generic?"
On a good note, they are clean looking ads so I have to give them props on not cluttering the city with messes.
