Be Stupid? ….um ok

I have had the new Deisel Campaign “Be Stupid” stuck in my head like a bad song. I really wish I could stop thinking about it. When I first saw the print ads in the subway stations around NY, I was immediately turned off. The words, “Be Stupid.” cover the walls along the subway platforms at almost every station I go to. “If buying your product makes me stupid then I don't want it,” I thought to myself as I walked by countless print ads in the Broadway-Nassau station.

The Problem is the more and more I think about the campaign and research it on the internet, the more I like it. Gosh, I never thought I would say this but... I actually think it's kind of clever.

The design and visuals are really good and I love the colors. Some of the ads are still lacking but the ones that aren't plastered all over the walls of the subway are really funny. I don't know why these weren't the ones chosen for these media placements. When I saw these I understood why I would want to “Be Stupid.”

They also want people to send in the “stupid” things that they are doing.

What really tied the whole campaign together for me was the website that they created for it. It is really worth a visit. I'm not going to give away what is so cool about it.

Oh, and the viral flash video is cool, too.
